Elon Reeve Musk was on born June 28th, 1971. He is a business tycoon, industrial designer, and engineer. The tech genius also doubles as the founder, CEO, CTO, and chief designer of SpaceX. He is also an early investor, CEO, and product architect of Tesla Inc.

TheTech genius is the founder of and co-founder of Neuralink. Musk is the co-founder and initial co-chairman of OpenAL. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2018. Also that year, he was ranked 25th on the Forbes list of The World’s Most Powerful People.

Elon Musk’s Journey so far

In May 2002, Musk founded SpaceX, an aerospace manufacturer, and space transport services company, of which he is CEO and lead designer. He joined Tesla Motors, Inc., in 2004, becoming its product architect that year and its CEO in 2008. In 2006, he helped create SolarCity, a solar energy services company (now a subsidiary of Tesla). Musk co-founded OpenAI, a nonprofit research company that aims to promote friendly artificial intelligence.

In July 2016, he co-founded Neuralink, a neurotechnology company focused on developing brain-computer interfaces. Musk founded The Boring Company in December 2016, an infrastructure and tunnel construction company focused on tunnels optimized for electric vehicles. In addition to his primary business pursuits, he envisioned an open-source high-speed transportation system known as the Hyperloop based on the concept of a vactrain.

Musk has also been the subject of criticism due to unorthodox or unscientific stances and highly publicized controversies. In 2018, he falsely tweeted that he had secured funding for a private takeover of Tesla at $420 a share. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued him for the comment. He temporarily stepped down from chairman and settled with the SEC; the settlement included limitations on his Twitter usage. Musk has also received substantial criticism for his views on artificial intelligence, public transportation, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Only recently, Elon Musk’s SpaceX program recorded a tremendous breakthrough as his rocket made it to outer space with a team of scientists. He is the first private company to send people to space. This breakthrough opens up a whole new world of research for the techie who is set on making the world a better place.

Elon Musk’s Success

Despite facing rejection so many times, Elon Musk still made it to the top. He has been criticized by many who are still not satisfied with his philosophies. Musk is the man behind the next-generation electric cars making the news daily.

Be it as it may, the tech giant has also seen his fair share of awards in recognition of his contribution to science and society. In 2010, he was included in Time’s 100 people who affected the world the most in 2010. In 2011, Forbes listed him as one of “America’s Most Powerful CEOs 40 and under”.

He was ranked joint-first on the Forbes list of the Most Innovative Leaders of 2019. Musk’s net worth jumped by up to $7 billion after the end of November 2020. As of November 29, 2020, Forbes estimated his net worth at $132.1 billion, making him the second-richest person in the world, behind Jeff Bezos. As CEO of Tesla, he is the longest-tenured CEO in the history of any automotive manufacturer globally.

Elon Must has scooped a lot of awards so far, touching almost every facet of society. The Tesla man is ranked 2nd on Forbes’ Billionaire list of 2020.
