In fact, it can be said that the 21st century and indeed the generation Z are the computer generation. Snapchat is one of those platforms that allow you to share information with your loved ones while meeting a totally new community entirely in the social space. In recent years, however, the platform has been reduced to a mere redundant feature. Snap Inc. has taken a few bold steps with the introduction of new features, one of which is a TikTok-like feature known as Spotlight.
What Is Snapchat?
Released in September 2019, Snapchat is an American multimedia messaging platform developed by Snap Inc. One of the main characteristics of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipients. Initially, the app was focused on person-person messaging but has since spread its tentacles to cover user stories that are only accessible for 24 hours of chronological content. The app was created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown.
The platform is known to be popular among the younger generations, particularly those who are below sixteen years old. This has led to many privacy concerns for parents. Snapchat is looking to win the hearts of its numerous users and gain new ones with the introduction of new features that are aimed at enhancing the productivity of the platform. One of the features stands out and can fetch a lot of money for creators and people who are looking to give it a try.

How Are Creators Making Money From Snapchat’s New Feature?
After being a part of the social space for over 9 years, Snapchat is now ready to pay creators even up to $1M if they can post on the platform. The company will pay creators for the most-viewed daily video posts which will be posted in the users’ feed which acts in the same way as to how the video-sharing app TikTok does.
Snapchat is calling its new feature Spotlight. The feature showcases a user’s stream of publicly submitted posts which will be available to other viewers based on personalized content algorithms. Creators who contribute to Spotlight by posting daily will be given a fair share of their $1 million daily, based on their popularity. This is the company’s way of luring users back on its platform as it has faced growing competition from other sister platforms such as TikTok and Instagram over the years.
The company has also revealed that it’ll be launching additional new creator tools such as the ability to use captions throughout Snaps, and a continuous shooting mode for longer-form Snaps. If you’re looking to make some good cash then you need to try this new platform out.
