Popularly known as The Kid Laroi, Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard was born on August 17th, 2003. He is an Australian rapper, singer, record producer, and songwriter. The star was born in Sydney but raised in rural Australia. Kid Laroid gained traction on social media due to his association with late rapper Juice Wrld who became his mentor while he was on tour in Australia.

Laroi gained international recognition because of his Let Her Go single, and later with Go featuring Juice Wrld. His debut mixtape F*ck Love hit number 3 on the US Billboard 200.
How Was Kid Laroi’s Early Life?
Kid Laroi was born in South Sydney in a suburb near Redfern known as Waterloo. He is a member of the Kamilaroi people from which he got his nickname Laroi.

Kid Laroi moved a lot as a kid. He spent much of his childhood relocating around New South Wales. At 11, Kid’s uncle was murdered and his mother was forced to move back to Waterloo. At 13 he started his music career as a means of getting away from his family struggles.

He lives in Los Angeles with his mother and younger brother, Austin. Leroi announced his relationship with Katarina Demetriades on January 2nd, 2021.
Kid Laroi’s Career
Laroi started going by the mononymous stage name Charlton in 2015. He formed a duo with his former mentor and producer known as DJ Ladykiller. The team was called Dream Team and was able to gain local attention performing near the Adelaide area. The duo later parted ways for unknown reasons after which Kid Laroi was discovered by DJ Ziggy and signed with ART Management Label.

The star’s debut album 14 With A Dream was made public in 2018, gaining him more attention as he became a finalist in the Triple J Unearthed high competition. He gained international recognition when his music video Let Her Go was uploaded on the Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel in 2019.
