Aaron Fredrick popularly known as AJ Mitchell Jr is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born on the 17th of May 2001 in Belleville, Illinois. His father is a traveling nurse while his mom is a small business owner. He is the only son and the youngest child. He has two sisters, Andrea and Addison.

His Career
He started learning music when he was four. He started off with piano lessons which were inspired by his father who also at the time was learning how to play and write songs. Mitchell attended Belleville west high school where he played on the football team and was also a member of the school choir.

When he was 13, he began performing on local open mic nights in his hometown. In addition to that, he started posting covers of various songs on YouTube and Instagram. This helped him gain a significant amount of followers. His social media influence helped him capture the attention of an LA-based artist manager. They got together and Mitchell has worked with him since 2015.

He relocated to Los Angeles in the same year to collaborate with a social media marketing agency Team 10. After a short-lived membership, he left the group to pursue a career in music. He released his first independent single Used to Be which he wrote while he was just thirteen years old. The song was produced by hip-hop producer Mike Dean. The song has gained well over 60 million streams.

After he left Team 10, he got many interesting offers but decided to settle with Epic Records. His first major deal with the label was in February of 2018. In November of 2018, Billboard named him as one of the top 19 artists to watch in the coming year.

Mitchell’s numbers have increased constantly over the years. The star has amassed over 1.3 million followers on Instagram, 954.1k followers on TikTok, 362.2k followers on Twitter, and 709k subscribers on YouTube. His net worth as of April 2021 is tagged at $400,000.
